  • Overview

    The Purchasing Manager is responsible for negotiating with vendors for the purchase of all materials, supplies, equipment, and services of the company. This position is vital in managing strategic and key supplier relationships. He or she will develop and execute sourcing strategies in line with business needs and product line requirements.


    • Review specs, proposals, drawings, and manufacturer quotes for the development of purchase orders.
    • Conduct spend analysis to identify cost savings opportunities.
    • Develop and manage third party suppliers who will meet or exceed company delivery, quality, and cost objectives.
    • Negotiate with vendors and manufacture representatives for best pricing.
    • Partner with and support the estimating team during the bidding process to ensure success.
    • Reconcile vendors for accuracy.

    Ideal Candidate Will Possess the Following Skills and Abilities

    • Associates degree in Business, Finance, Accounting, or related field. Candidates may substitute additional education on a year-for-year basis for the required education.
    • Minimum of 2 years of purchasing experience.
    • The ability to read product specifications.
    • Demonstrated negotiation experience.
    • Must be proficient in Microsoft Office.
