The Environmental Health and Safety Manager will be work primarily in our corporate headquarters located in Elverson, PA with occasional travel to other Singer facilities in the NY, NJ, MD area as needed. Serves as a strategic and tactical specialist for all environmental health and safety processes including audits, assessments, training, and legal compliance. Provides support and consultation to the department leaders and team members.


  • Responsible for the development of safety policies, training programs, strategies, plans and procedures
  • Coordinate and administer safety training initiatives for the company to ensure compliance with OSHA, EPA, DOT and all other regulatory requirements. Understand DOT compliance and regulations as well as EPA and environmental regulations if applicable
  • Identify, design and develop company health and safety management systems, training programs and procedures as well as enforcing regulatory regulations and company policies
  • Establishes a culture of safety at assigned locations by conducting and documenting required OSHA training for new hires, equipment training, and other applicable OSHA training
  • Analyzes safety data and performs trend analysis; providing reports and safety metrics to management team
  • Manage and track all training, certification, and re-certification; incorporating timelines for re-training and procedures to accomplish the training
  • Lead monthly safety meetings and ensure all required documentation is up to date and compliant with OSHA, PA Certified Safety Committee, as well as any other state requirements and company policy
  • Conduct new hire orientation training to ensure delivery of all safety programs and other necessary safety guidance to newly hired employees
  • Conducts and document monthly facility safety inspections providing corrective action when necessary. Ensure corrective actions are completed in a timely manner
  • Facilitate accident investigations, prepare incident and accident reports as well as work with management to determine root cause
  • In conjunction with Human Resources, manage worker’s compensation claims and modified duty tasks for employees
  • Provide assistance and technical expertise in implementation of all areas of the safety program
  • Establish and maintain facility security procedures at all locations
  • Respond to reports of potentially unsafe working conditions in a timely manner
  • Must maintain confidentiality involving security and/or personnel issues

Ideal Candidate Will Possess the Following Skills and Abilities

  • A minimum of seven years of relevant experience in Environmental Health and Safety and Facility Security in a warehouse environment
  • Bachelor’s degree in Occupational Safety or related field preferred
  • DOT Experience Preferred
  • Construction Experience Preferred
  • Considerable knowledge and understanding of health and safety compliance, regulations, standards, safe work practices, and procedures is essential
  • High level of enthusiasm and initiative to understand and implement safety techniques, standards, regulations, and requirements
  • Strong desire to drive improvement with the belief that all injuries and incidents can be prevented
  • Passion and capability to work with all levels of the organization including senior leaders, managers, and hourly employees
  • Strong written and oral communication skills
  • Experience managing safety programs at multiple locations
  • Completion of OSHA 40-hour training preferred
  • First Aid/CPR training preferred
  • Position is based at Singer Headquarters in Elverson, PA. Travel required to Singer’s other facilities currently located in New Jersey, New York, Maryland and Virginia with most frequent travel occurring to warehouse facilities in Paterson and Bellmawr, NJ
