Overview

Singer Equipment Company, one of the largest food service equipment and supply distributors in the US, is seeking an Inside Account Manager (IAM). The IAM will be responsible for promoting the company’s products and services, as well as building and growing relationships with existing customers. This position maintains and grows sales of equipment, janitorial, disposables, tabletop and smallwares to restaurants, schools, country clubs, hospitals, nursing homes, hotels, motels and/or other properties that require kitchen equipment and supplies. The IAM will act as a member of the supply sales team, building positive working relationship with the entire Singer team and maintaining Singer’s values to be the most responsive, knowledgeable, and friendly supplier in the food service industry. The IAM will manage accounts for assigned Sales people or team leaders. Process, systems, and operational support will be provided by the Customer Service Manager.

Responsibilities

Essential Duties:

  • Be the Inside resource for Singer’s customers
    • Stay abreast of new product, always thinking of customers’ needs
    • Seek training and exposure to cutting edge technologies to assist customers
    • Offer customers solutions to their pain points
  • Leverage and understand Singer’s processes
  • Prepare and communicate thorough, timely and persuasive presentations/responses utilizing Singer Equipment Co. software (AutoQuotes, Prelude, etc)
  • Search out, manage, and close customer projects
  • Work with Accounts Receivable to ensure customers pay invoices within specified terms
  • Maintain a minimum of 4MM in top line sales
  • Analyze sales using weekly reports sent by Sales Management
    • Identify lost business and execute plan to recapture
    • Identify opportunities for growth and execute plan under direction of Management
    • Update SmartSheet or CRM on all progress, minimum weekly
  • Attend industry and company trade shows, conferences and sales meetings as required
  • Grow Singer’s business within the assigned accounts by preserving existing customer relationships
  • Solicit orders and assess customers’ satisfaction with the company through audible or virtual communication.
  • Work with integrity and respect for all customers
  • Interact professionally and effectively with the entire Singer team
  • Find ways to save a Customer money and solutions to make them more money
  • Maintain pricing for all accounts per company recommendations and parameters
  • Suggest products from preferred Singer Equipment Co. vendors
  • Communicate daily with Account Executive – Team Leader
  • Create and maintain order guides on Website
  • Search through Lost Item Report, develop and execute plan to obtain business

Ideal Candidate Will Possess the Following Skills and Abilities

Required Minimum Education/Experience:

  • Minimum 3 years customer service or sales support experience
  • Proven record of success and history of accomplishments within the industry preferred Employees or former employees of country clubs, restaurants or catering facilities a plus
  • Candidates who are or were in foodservice distribution business, restaurant managers, restaurant operations, sold restaurant equipment or supplies or managed the front of the house operations for a foodservice establishment a plus
  • Stellar business ethics
  • Within 6 months, must demonstrate proficiency with Prelude, AutoQuotes, Microsoft Applications, Able to perform all quoting, ordering, expediting, and analysis functions
  • Strong acumen in AutoQuotes and Microsoft Office Applications
  • Professional demeanor, vibrant personality and the ability to instill trust in prospects and customers
  • Goal-oriented and driven self-starter who can work independently and with a team
  • Capacity to convey ideas effectively and sell a variety of products; possess strong closing skills
  • Must maintain a valid driver license with a driving record that meets Company minimum standards for travel throughout assigned territory
  • College degree or equivalent experience preferred

  • Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from individuals and groups of managers, clients and customers
  • Ability to add, subtract, multiply and divide in all units of measure; compute rate, ratio and percent; use whole numbers, common fractions and decimals
  • Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists
  • Ability to work in a disciplined, consistent timely and objective manner and capable of following established policies, procedures and practices
  • Ability to plan and organize own activities; analyze data; manage work time efficiently; follow procedures and policies; identify and solve problems; and manage multiple priorities
  • Report to work promptly and regularly; demonstrate the ability to consistently meet deadlines
