Overview

The Warehouse OPEX Manager is responsible for the coaching, leading, and implementation of process improvements across Singer’s distribution and warehousing network. The Warehouse OPEX Manager provides hands on training & coaching in lean principles (Value Stream Mapping, Kaizen, 5S, Standard Work, , Material Flow, Visual Management, SMED, TPM, Root Cause Problem Solving, etc.) and tools to eliminate waste in all functions. The Warehouse OPEX Manager leads the deployment of the business system tools, productivity project identification and planning, and standards in the distribution facilities in alignment with the corporate objectives. 

Responsibilities

  • Lead operational diagnostics to identify opportunities for improvement
  • Establish key objectives/ key results and follow-up on the portfolio of projects, Kaizen and improvement initiatives to ensure results are measured and achieved, including monthly business reporting
  • Support implementation of best practices and process improvement projects in conjunction with functional leadership teams.
  • Plan and conduct training in OpEx and Lean tools to include planning, facilitating and following up on Kaizen events and in systematic root cause and complex problem solving as needed to ensure practical application in continuous improvement become a natural part of everyday life at Singer
  • Owns and improves the standards that will be implemented throughout the value streams or areas/teams within the distribution business segment
  • Responsible for driving, managing and developing the OpEx Culture to gain tangible business results and improvements in areas such as Productivity, Customer satisfaction, Quality and Safety
  • Establish and develop OpEx culture
  • Provide coaching/guidance in Lean, Standard Work, Gemba and Problem Solving

Ideal Candidate Will Possess the Following Skills and Abilities

  • BS/BA degree or equivalent degree in Business Management, Engineering, or other related field of study. MBA, MS or another technical graduate degree preferred
  • Certified in LEAN Manufacturing, and/or Certified Black Belt with a minimum 7 years of business operations and/or plant manufacturing or engineering experience, which includes a minimum of 3+ years of demonstrated process improvement success
  • Broad business knowledge and ability to link customer needs with business processes
  • Prior experience with training of LEAN tools
  • Grow and develop the team by sharing knowledge / experience
  • Must be able to directly lead and/or co-lead high-impact process improvement projects
  • Ability to manage multiple projects. Demonstrated skills in planning, budgeting and project management directed toward achievement of business goals
  • Proven skills working with cross-functional teams
  • Strong negotiating and influencing skills. The ability to drive change
  • Excellent reading, writing and verbal communication and platform skills in local language as well as in English. Strong teaching and presentation skills required
  • Strong analytical/statistical problem-solving skills
  • Strong Coaching and Facilitation skills
  • Strong Project Management skills (Kaizen preferred)
  • Attention to accuracy and data integrity
  • 25% of the time will be traveling to a facility or location to perform Gemba related activity
