Overview

The Estimator is responsible for supporting the estimating team with all facets of the bidding process in order to ensure its success.

Responsibilities

  • Accurately analyze and prepare project proposals
  • Maintain electronic systems such as entering projects into AQ and Quickbase
  • Analyze project specifications, scope statements, and all contract documents needed to create a successful proposal
  • Create successful relationship with manufacture reps, general contractors, and other project stakeholders
  • Monitor and update documentation on the Ashland FTP site
  • Proactively follow-up with customers throught the bidding process
  • Review pricing to ensure accuracy and resolve any discrepancies
  • Prepare budgets and timely submission to customers

Ideal Candidate Will Possess the Following Skills and Abilities

  • High School Diploma or equivalent
  • 1 year of related experience
  • Must have the ability to read drawings
  • Must have excellent basic math skills
  • Must be able to work successfully in a team environment
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Excellent customer service skills and the ability to establish a rapport with customers
  • Must be extremely detail oriented and thorough

Physical Demands 

 

This position is frequently required to sit, hear, use close and peripheral vision as well as depth perception.  It also requires occasional standing, wlaking, bending, stooping, kneeling, squatting, and crawling.  May occasionally lift up to 25 lbs.
