The Purchasing Specialist is responsible for purchasing for the contract sales department. This position is vital in managing strategic and key supplier relationships. He or she will develop and execute sourcing strategies in line with business needs and product line requirements. The Purchasing Specialist will report to the Director of Contract Purchasing. 


This will be a hybrid position to include both working remotely and working in-office.


  • Review proposals, specifications, and manufacturer quotes for the development of purchase orders.
  • Perform sales order entry by utilizing the AQ converter.
  • Create, cut, process, and modify purchase orders.
  • Review factory acknowledgements to confirm accuracy.
  • Audit and approve invoices for accounts payable.
  • Assist/ support the billing department for customer invoicing.
  • Maintain accurate vendor/ rep information to ensure pricing accuracy, discounts, and freight programs.
  • Utilize inventory to maximize gross profit and increase margin.
  • Create and maintain good vendor relationships.
  • Communicate with the organization on market conditions, changes in products, changes in price levels, terms, discounts, allowances, promotions with suppliers.

Education and Experience:


  • Bachelor’s degree in business administration- Operations, Supply Chain, or similar field; or relevant experience
  • 2+ years buying experience
  • Experience in purchasing food service equipment
  • Experience using ERP system
  • Transportation/Logistics Experience
