The Purchasing Specialist is responsible for negotiating with vendors for the purchase of all materials, supplies, equipment, and services of the company. This position is vital in managing strategic and key supplier relationships. He or she will develop and execute sourcing strategies in line with business needs and product line requirements.


  • Review specs, proposals, drawings, and manufacturer quotes for the development of purchase orders
  • Conduct spend analysis to identify costs savings opportunities
  • Develop  and manage 3rd party suppliers who will meet or exceed company delivery, quality, and cost objectives
  • Negotiate with vendors and manufacture representatives for best pricing
  • Partner with and support the extimating team during the bidding process to ensure success
  • Reconcile vendors for accuracy
  • Manage and utilize inventory to maximize gross profit and increase margin
  • Communicate with the organization on market conditions, changes in products, changes in price levels, terms, discounts, allowances, promotions with suppliers

Ideal Candidate Will Possess the Following Skills and Abilities

HS Diploma

Minimum of 2 years of purchasing experience. 

The ability to read product specifications.

Demonstrated negotiation experience.

Must be proficient using Microsoft Office.

Experience with Quickbooks and Sage a plus
