Singer Equipment, M. Tucker division (Singer M. Tucker), a leading food service equipment distributor, is seeking a Sales Representative/Account Manager to grow our New Jersey based market.  The Account Manager will be responsible for promoting and selling a large range of product across several categories of foodervice supplies and equipment.  This role is responsible to build relationships with both newly generated and existing customers.  This position maintains, manages and grows all aspects of a clients relationship with the company. This includes sales of kitchen equipment, tabletop items, smallwares, paper products and janitorial supplies to restaurants, country clubs, caterers, hotels, hospitals, nursing homes, and/or other properties that require kitchen equipment and supplies.  The focus of the Account Manager role is to penetrate the achieve the goals set by the company and District Sales Manager.


  • Build new business by seeking and enrolling new clients or from existing relationships
  • Effectively support and service existing business 
  • Be a trusted ally to our partners, key clients, as well as internal teammates
  • Employ product knowledge and continue product education in our industry
  • Demonstrate mastery of consultative selling by generating interest and cultivating relationships and closing sales
  • Engage prospective properties and promote the value of dealing with our company
  • Make product recommendations based on the needs of the business
  • Process orders and complete internal paperwork, digital forms and processes
  • Quote prices, convey credit/terms of sale, and prepare sales quotes/contracts
  • Work in tandem with Accounts Receivable department to ensure that customers pay invoices within agreed upon terms
  • Travel for customer visits, company functions, sales meetings, conferences, and training sessions
  • Submit forecasting and sales reports as requested by management

Ideal Candidate Will Possess the Following Skills and Abilities



  • Two to five years sales experience with proven record of sales success and history of accomplishments preferred
  • Employees or former employees of country clubs, restaurants, or catering, foodservice facilities a plus
  • Candidates who are or were in the foodservice distribution business, restaurant managers, restaurant operations, sold restaurant equipment or supplies, or managed the front of the house operations for a foodservice establishment all a plus
  • Stellar business ethics
  • Professional demeanor, presentation skill, vibrant personality, and the ability to instill trust in prospects and customers
  • Goal-oriented and driven self-starter who can work in a high paced environment independently or with a team
  • Fluency in English, excellent written and verbal communication, active listening, and customer service skills
  • Computer literacy which shall include typing skill, internet navigation, and use of the Microsoft Office Suite as well as the ability to learn, adapt, and be proficient using company programs, technology, and software
  • Capacity to convey ideas effectively and sell a variety of products; possess strong closing skills
  • Must be willing to sign a Covenants Agreement
  • Must maintain a valid driver license and have insured vehicle with a driving record that meets Company minimum standards for travel throughout assigned district to service customers and call upon prospects
  • High School Diploma or GED required
  • College degree preferred

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to sit, stand, walk and use hands and fingers to operate a computer keyboard, mouse, and telephone to talk and hear. The employee is frequently required to sit and reach with hands and arms. The employee must occasionally

lift and/or move up to 30 pounds.  This position will require regular travel via a personal automobile or mass transit which may result in long periods of sitting.




Depending on the assignment, this position may work in a normal office environment or work from a home situation or both.  DSRs are expected to travel to and from their accounts as needed.  There is very limited overnight travel required (less than 10%) and specifically pertains to company events, staff meetings, training sessions, vendor fairs and client appointments.
