The Designer is responsible for utilizing AutoCAD / REVIT in preparation or modification of project drawings related to the Food Service Equipment being provided or installed by Singer EVI, including coordinating information related to utility or physical installation requirements.  This position provides support to estimating and project management.  The Designer must be self-motivated with high energy and the ability to interact with numerous individuals, in multiple functions, in a dynamic and changing environment.


  • Review of food service equipment plans, equipment cut sheets, custom fabrication drawings, mechanical and architectural plans for use in preparation of drawings pertaining to items sold or installed by Singer EVI.
  • Coordinate with designers, technicians and other personnel to incorporate concepts and information into drawing packages.
  • Prepare drawings for distribution as necessary according to project protocol.
  • Prepare clarifications as necessary to encapsulate changes to the project requirements for distribution as necessary according to project protocol.
  • If requested, assemble documentation for project, including cut-books, plans and specifications for all equipment, etc. and distribute as required.
  • Review quotes and manufacturer shop drawings for equipment description and physical requirements, accurately incorporating requirements into CAD/REVIT drawings (entry-level experience with REVIT acceptable).
  • Operate associated plotters and printers.
  • Manage documentation related to changes to the scope of work, including generation and tracking of revisions.
  • Manage process for saving drawings to archive system after projects are closed out.
  • Assist in obtaining field measurements as requested.
  • Attend project meetings as required.
  • Communicate both internally and externally with other departments, including but not limited to estimating, procurement, and project coordination regarding project issues and changes.
  • Execute all work in accordance with Singer EVI processes and procedures.
  • Communicate project status with architects, engineers and clients
  • Document issues and resolutions related to projects

Ideal Candidate Will Possess the Following Skills and Abilities

  • 3-5 years’ experience in food service equipment or construction related to foodservice.
  • Proficient in   Ability to use AutoCAD a plus.
  • Proficient in using AutoQuotes to specify projects, including custom equipment and fabrication.
  • Ability to utilize computer-based programs necessary to complete assigned tasks, including but not limited to Microsoft Word, Excel, and AutoQuotes.
  • Ability to measure and document field conditions using words, dimensions and sketches as required.
  • Effective interpersonal skills to successfully work with others in the organization.
  • Ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks and work in a fast-paced environment
  • Attention to detail; highest standards of accuracy and precision; highly organized.
  • Exceptional work ethic with a focus on achieving goals and targets in a timely and complete manner.
  • Possess exceptional written and verbal communication skill, including ability to articulate issues and recommendations in a concise and timely manner.

  • Read and understand manufactures cutsheets, drawings and construction drawings and communicate layout and design requirements to others.
  • Basic knowledge of general construction, mechanical, electrical, and plumbing.

  • Flexible in schedule to enable the company to meet customer needs – overtime and weekends may be necessary and required.


Work requires sitting for extended periods of time while operating a computer, standing, walking and moving throughout office or home/telework environment; requires driving and valid driver’s license; talking; seeing (specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus); hearing; feeling; bending or stooping; squatting or crouching; reaching; kneeling; pushing; pulling; lifting.  In addition, job site work frequent bending, stooping, and twisting.


Typically works in an office and home/telework environment.  The core hours of this position are 8:30 am – 5:00 pm. However, some evening and weekend hours may be required to meet business demands. Job may require work to be performed on active construction sites where employee may be exposed to dust, dirt, loud noise, odors and other hazards commonly found on construction sites. Personal Protection Equipment must be worn on jobsites.  Job may require local and out of town travel, including some overnight travel.
