The facility manager is responsible to oversee the maintenance, repair and security of the building, outside grounds and to provide an efficient and safe working environment for all employees.


  • Plan and coordinate all installations (heat, electricity etc.) and refurbishments
  • Manage the upkeep of equipment and supplies to meet health and safety standards
  • Inspect buildings’ structures to determine the need for repairs or renovations
  • Supervise external contractors and ensure they are complaint with Singer Health and Safety rules and OSHA requirements
  • Control activities like waste disposal, building security, groundskeeping, etc.
  • Handle insurance plans and service contracts
  • Advise on measures to improve the efficiency and cost-effectiveness of the facility
  • Ensure basic facilities are well-maintained and conduct proactive maintenance
  • Deal with emergencies as they arise
  • Prepare and track facility budget
  • Partner with the Environmental Health & Safety Manager to ensure facilities meet compliance standards and government regulations
  • Plan for the future by forecasting the facility’s upcoming needs and requirements
  • Manage maintenance reporting system to ensure work orders are completed timely
  • Manage and coordinate outside cleaning company
  • Active member of safety committee
  • Manage and coordinate office space planning
  • Ensure facility meets compliance standards and government regulations
  • Perform other related duties, as assigned, for the purpose of ensuring adherence to established internal controls. 

Ideal Candidate Will Possess the Following Skills and Abilities

  • Degree in Facility Management, Engineering or Construction Management a plus
  • Proven experience as facilities manager or relevant position
  • Experience in a distribution facility a plus
  • Well-versed in technical/engineering operations and facilities management best practices
  • Knowledge of basic accounting, finance principles and project management
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Excellent organizational and leadership skills
  • Good analytical/critical thinking
  • Relevant professional qualification (e.g. CFM) is a plus
  • Able to deal with complex issues in a fast-paced setting
  • Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines while maintaining a positive attitude and providing exemplary service to all departments
