Overview

This position will report to the President of Contract, focusing on the implementation of best practices for the Singer & Singer M. Tucker contract sales teams. This position will be responsible to plan, direct, coordinate, and oversee internal operations and activities, ensuring development and execution of efficient operations and cost-effective systems to meet current and future needs of the contract teams. 

Responsibilities

Internal Operation Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement process for sales team communication and process alignment with Singer corporate.
  • Partner with Purchasing & IT departments to maximize efficiency in reporting, software integration, and job execution. Specific to Singer:
    • Datapump revamp and process implementation for successful receiving and sending pick tickets for jobs.
    • Manage the accuracy of backlog, while ensuring billing paperwork is properly documented, and turned in, in a timely manner.
    • Be the liaison and solution provider for issues with project turnovers to the Purchasing department.
  • Develop team and/or customer specific processes to ensure satisfaction on all levels.
  • Maintain the integrity of company and department initiatives and processes by policing what has been implemented and holding individuals accountable.

Corporate and External Interactions:

  • Collaborate with executive leadership to set and meet company goals while supplying expertise, guidance, and vision to contract staff.
  • Partner with Finance to make decisions for the department using budgeting and forecasting.  
  • Partner with Purchasing to engage with and establish exemplary rapport with factories and sales representatives, to resolve project issues quickly & efficiently.

Supervisory Responsibilities:

  • Directly manage support staff that is currently employed by Singer but not assigned to a sales team.
    • Oversees the daily workflow of the employees.
    • Responsible for performance management of staff in accordance with company policy.
  • Partner with HR leadership to assist sales teams with job descriptions, interviews, and new hires.
  • Work with team level managers on performance reviews, goal setting and monitoring.
  • Select appropriate training for team administrative staff members.

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Strong supervisory and leadership skills.
  • Extensive knowledge of the principles, procedures, and best practices in the industry.
  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite or related software.
  • Willingness to travel to multiple Singer locations, sales meetings and industry events.
  • At least 5 years of industry-related experience including three years in management required.
