Overview

The President’s position is the highest executive position in the Contract Business, reporting to the CEO. The President is charged with implementing the vision. The President will formulate the business segment’s strategic planning to achieve the objectives of the business plan with the aim of maximizing return and minimizing risk for the company. This leader is ultimately responsible for the overall performance of the contract business as well as all projects and contracts.

Responsibilities

  • Set up measurable standards of performance for each sales team and functional area to further achievement of department goals, measure that performance against established standards.
  • In conjunction with staff, establish company-wide systems and procedures for reporting, project controls, financial controls, and employee relations.
  • Display the highest level of organizational and communication skills.
  • Can clearly communicate the company’s status and direction to staff, executives and strategic.
  • Manage direct reports, including Annual Performance Reviews, periodic reviews of progress toward annual goals of any direct reports. Establishment of annual performance goals for the business unit as a whole and at the division level.
  • Must be able to train, instruct and mentor members of the team in various methods and techniques that will enhance the team and company performance.
  • Plan, staff and supervise all assigned work unit activities through management team to ensure a cohesive operational unit.
  • Provide advice, guidance, and direction to subordinate executives and managers toward their professional development.
  • Assist in the establishment, and ensure compliance, of operational units’ short-term and long-term goals with overall corporate objectives.
  • Serve on the Executive Management Team.
  • Perform additional assignments as required by the needs of the operational unit, company, or as directed by the CEO.
  • Train the next generation of business leaders in project management, leadership skills, corporate culture and values.
  • Maintain primary profit/loss responsibility for assigned operational units.
  • Build relationships with key customers, influencers and vendors.
  • Help source and integrate acquisitions.
  • Continue to develop organizational structure as company scales.

Ideal Candidate Will Possess the Following Skills and Abilities

  • Experience in commercial foodservice construction, kitchen design or foodservice equipment contracting strongly preferred.
  • Strategic Mindset: Ability to understand and create sources of profit, competitive advantages, growth strategies. Position company to win in the marketplace, growing sales, market share and profitability.
  • Relationship Builder: Ability to build relationships with key stakeholders (employees, vendors, customers).
  • Must possess strong written and verbal communication skills. Capable of representing the company publicly in a professional manner. Ability to comfortably communicate to senior executives, and all stakeholders.
  • Planning and Results Orientation: Demonstrate ability to budget, plan for profitability, and deliver on planned results.
  • Leadership: Ability to lead and motivate people through change and difficult times, and ability to support and strengthen company culture through leadership practice.
  • Talent Developer: Ability to recruit and develop talent throughout the organization.
  • Time Management. Develop, organize, plan and have time management abilities to utilize, solve problems creatively, manage/schedule multiple priorities, and adherence of deadlines.
  • 4 years technical or business administration degree or equivalent (advanced degree may be helpful), plus extensive experience in the management of construction projects.
  • Computer and Technical Skills. Embrace and adapt to technology required to fulfill responsibilities of this position, to include Microsoft Office, excel, Outlook, Project Management software. Look to automation and technology to increase efficiency of the division.
  • Must have a solid background in operations and sales.
  • Stay current with changing technology/tools and participate in educational/training opportunities.
  • The President will have relationships with trade associations, business influencers, and past customers.
  • Continually uphold the highest degree of control and leadership.
  • Attitude of safety first.
