Overview

The Senior Accounts Payable Manager is responsible for driving key accounts payable processes by working across various internal and external teams and functions. The Manager ensures team's activities, reports, and results are within goals and in compliance with regulations, accounting principles and company policies.

Responsibilities

  • Responsible for developing improvement and strategic plans for areas of responsibilities
  • Develops and implements KPI’s, strategic guidelines, procedures, and processes
  • Accountable for reviewing departmental results and directing teams towards developing corrective action plans as necessary
  • Identifies improvements for systems, workflow, and procedures (Optimization within ERP and Concur Invoice)
  • Drives and implements changes with cross functional teams—working closely with purchasing and operations
  • Prepare and execute other financial analyses and special projects such as expense analyses, trend analyses by cost center other analyses
  • Coordinate with Rebate Analyst to ensure vendor rebates and credits are recognized and collected timely and evaluate potential opportunities.
  • Establishes departmental goals and key metrics.
  • Develops reporting through our Concur Invoice platform, Prelude (ERP), Qlik (BI Tool), and SQL
  • Leads implementation of acquired companies into Concur Invoice
  • Create 13-week cash outflow forecasting
  • Reviews and approves all payment runs
  • Manages an AP supervisor and a team of 8 +/- under the Supervisor
  • Responsible for key vendor relationships

Ideal Candidate Will Possess the Following Skills and Abilities

  • BS/BA or MS/MBA in Business, Finance, or Accounting required
  • 5 to 7 years of experience in Accounts Payable preferred
  • Minimum of 5 years in supervisory/management roles required
  • Experience in distributor/retail environment a plus
  • Assertive and able to address inconsistencies with policies and SOPs required
  • Advanced skills in the Microsoft Office Suite applications (Excel, Word, Outlook) required
  • Experience with Concur or similar AP automation platform highly preferred
  • Experience with BI tools and SQL highly preferred
  • Exceptional written and verbal Communication Skills required
  • Strong organizational/multi-task and prioritizing skills required
  • Excellent interpersonal, customer service skills and ethical standards required
  • Experience with General Ledger and standard accounting principles required
  • Ability to maintain a high level of confidentiality
